When GET Is Too Small and POST Feels Wrong: Introducing HTTP QUERY
For years, API designers have been forced to choose between GET requests that struggle with complex filtering and POST requests that don’t accurately reflect read-only operations. The newly standardized HTTP QUERY method aims to bridge that gap by allowing safe, idempotent requests with a request body. In this lightning talk, we’ll explore why QUERY was added to HTTP, the problems it solves, how it differs from GET and POST, and what its arrival means for modern API design and development.
